Presence Through Performance
Traditional uniform fabrics have historically been designed with two methods of stretch performance.
Mechanical Stretch: Fabrics constructed without inherent stretch fibers (e.g., Spandex) or yarns offer limited mobility. A twill weave is an example of a fabric that will allow for some stretch even without the presence of stretch fibers and yarns.
Spandex Stretch: Fabrics constructed with inherent stretch fibers like Spandex exhibit more stretch and mobility. Spandex stretch fabrics exhibit good stretch properties and average recovery or “bounce back” to its original form through extensive wash and wear. Raeflex is the poly/wool stretch uniform fabric of the future utilizing performance stretch and recovery (PSR) technology.
